CMA ETHOS
Originating from the 2012 movie biography, “I am Bruce Lee”. The transcript identifies the foundation behind CMA Walk in Strong - Walk out STRONGER.
Walk in strong (Walk in the front door!)
I (Ed O'Neill) had a similar expression when I would drive down to Torrance to do my Jiu-jitsu class every week.
His (Bruce Lee) expression was "Walk on" and mine (Ed O'Neill) was "Walk in the front door".
I had every excuse on the way down to go back.
My stomach hurts.
My arm hurts.
My knee's aching.
And I used to say,
"Walk in the front door.
Walk in the front door."
The end result of walking in that front door 16 years was I got my black belt, which I consider the greatest achievement of my life, apart from my children.
Walk out STRONGER - (WALK ON!)
He (Bruce Lee) was doing a good
morning stretch exercise which can be very dangerous. Chiropractors like that exercise.
For whatever reason, he did not warm up and just... that was it. He was in excruciating pain.
I said, "Where's Bruce?"
They never wanted to say he hurt his back, because I knew he was working on the screen scripts.
They told him that he was never going to walk properly and forget doing any gung fu.
On the back of his business card, he wrote the words "Walk on".
He used to put the card on his bathroom mirror and his doors and walls, so everywhere he went in his room, he'd see "Walk on".
So, he'd get down and start doing his stretching.
Bruce brought himself back through rigorous rehabilitation.

KYOKUSHIN KARATE
Started Martial Arts when I was 6 years old.
It was called Kyokushin. Throughout my years I have learned many things through my training, from Discipline, Strength and Endurance to Leadership and Budo spirit.
I have had the Honour of training with Kyokushin Greats and traveling to Japan to compete in Kumite.
Though the years I have also had great pride in working with other styles and organisations to help develop my own personal Martial Arts, which in turn benefits my students.
I believe that even though Kyokushin is my preference, other martial arts are important to learn in order to balance out one’s learning.

KYOKUSHIN KARATE
In the early 90’s during the rugby league off season, a friend of mine introduced me to Kyokushin karate at the local P.C.Y.C. The training enhanced my fitness, strength, stamina and flexibility. I bantered between Kyokushin and footy for a couple of years until one season I never returned to footy and remained with Kyokushin karate.
Over 30 years later despite age and injuries, Kyokushin Karate has provided ongoing physical fitness, focused mental health and personal growth of which is now providing new challenges as an instructor in developing new students, guiding returning students and enhancing existing students.
